Saturdays at the Cubberley Pavilion:

Enjoy an evening of dancing (or just learn how) at the Cubberley Pavilion, the single largest (12,000 sq. ft. all wood) dance floor in the US.

A beginning (B) and two intermediate (I) classes are taught simultaneously, with new steps each week. The featured dance in the Beginning and the first Intermediate classes (B/I) changes from week to week. The dance taught in the second intermediate class changes every two to three weeks.

Drop in for the lesson at 8:00. Our dance party begins at 9:15 and lasts till midnight. You don't need to bring a partner. .

Cost: $8.00. $6.00 after 9:15
(Full-time students on our Email list - $2.00 anytime)

Attire: Dressy-Casual (Most rubber-soled shoes, such as sneakers, will stick to the dance floor. You'll be more comfortable dancing in leather or suede-soled shoes.)

Fridays at the Cubberley Pavilion

Not just a place to dance, but a place to have fun!  The Cubberley Pavilion is the place to be every Friday night. Some of us have always wanted to learn to dance. And some seek that special mixture of great music, friendly people, top-notch instructors, and a dance floor you can land a plane on. Come join the crowd at the Cubberley Pavilion! Drop-in beginning (B) and intermediate(I) lessons are taught simultaneously from 8 till 9, and our dance party begins at 9 and lasts till midnight. You don't need to bring a partner.
Instructors: Robin Rebello, Shawne Workman, Allen Boronkay, Samy Makar.

Cost: $8.00
Full-time students: $4.00

Attire: Dressy-Casual (Most rubber-soled shoes, such as sneakers, will stick to the dance floor. You'll be more comfortable dancing in leather or suede-soled shoes.)

Tuesdays at the Los Altos American Legion Hall

Total immersion in dance. These series classes will sharpen your skills like nothing else! They are not drop-in but rather a set of 3 or 6 classes allowing for pattern review, building on previously presented material, plus time to explore techniques and styling, and plenty of practice time.
Beginning lesson:   7:30-8:30 pm
Intermediate lesson:   8:45-9:45 pm
Free fifteen-minute practice dance period after each class.

Cost: $40 per person per series.
Register at the first class meeting.
You may take both beginning and intermediate levels at the same time ($80 per person).

No partner required.

Instructor: Robin Rebello

Attire: Casual

Wednesdays at the Lucie Stern Ballroom

Come join us at the Lucie Stern Ballroom. The beginning lesson starts at 6:45, the intermediate lesson begins at 7:45 and runs until around 8:30. Our dance party, which features a wide variety of dance music, continues until about 10:30. You don't need to bring a partner to join the fun.
Instructor: Phil Mast.
Dance FUNdamentals Workshop at 7:45 for folks who want to master their basic steps before progressing to intermediate levels.
Instructor: Charles Jackson

Cost: $8.00 (free after 8:30) - Check, Credit Card, or prepaid admission card. NO CASH. (The City of Palo Alto does not allow us to accept cash at the Lucie Stern Center.) You may pay at the door with a check or credit card. If you are a regular (or are considering becoming one), you may want to consider purchasing a prepaid admission card. More information (and forms) are at the door.

Full-time students: FREE
Everyone: FREE AFTER 8:30

Once-a-Month Sundays
at the Crowne Plaza-Cabaña Hotel in Palo Alto

Tea Dances (dances at "tea time," which is late afternoon/early evening) at the Cabaña's Grand Ballroom every month - what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

A live band, Joanie Brant and the Nob Hill Knights, plays social dance music for your dancing pleasure.  Recorded music is played during their breaks and the DJ takes requests.  Many Cubberley dancers attend so there are plenty of partners and plenty of fun!

4:00 - 5:00  Pre-dance lesson with instructor Robin Rebello

5:00 - 5:30  Dancing to recorded music (also during band breaks)

5:30 - 8:30  Dancing to a 5-piece live band with vocalist

$10 cover charge for the dance
$5 extra for the lesson
Drinks & dinner menu available at extra cost

Singles and couples welcome. No partner required

Attire: Nice-casual to dressy
